Woombye Cheese Company release Noosa Food & Wine exclusive!
When it comes to cheese, Woombye Cheese Company know a thing or two about exceptional cheese! With numerous awards to their name, including 2018 Champion at the Australian Grand Dairy Awards, they have been going from strength to strength since bursting into the market in 2013.
Exclusive to the 2018 Noosa Food & Wine Festival, they are launching an exciting brand new cheese, the Woombye Ash Brie.
Created using their award-winning handmade Triple Cream Brie, the new Woombye Ash Brie is carefully rolled in ash repeatedly during the maturation process. The result is a cheese with a striking black and white appearance in addition to the rich and creamy centre of Triple Cream Brie.
Ash is a traditional covering on brie cheese since medieval times, the process adds a delicate smokiness as well as a hint of mushroom to the white mould flavour.
