Here in Noosa we take Planet Earth seriously. And at Noosa Food & Wine Festival, we're changing our own practices to create a truly sustainable event experience.
When you’re visiting our beautiful region we ask you to please treat it with respect and join us in being good environmental citizens.
We've teamed up with Tourism Noosa to support their Trees for Tourism initiative. This year $1 from every Festival Village ticket purchased will go to Noosa & District Landcare’s Noosa Trail Network rehabilitation initiatives.
Your contribution as part of the Festival Village ticket price will help provide shade trees for walkers, assist with erosion and improve the habitat for local wildlife species.
We're working with Plastic Free Noosa again in 2019 to continue to eliminate single-use plastics, reduce plastic waste, implement composting and help educate our patrons to deliver as sustainable a Festival as possible.
No matter which Noosa Food & Wine Festival events you're heading to in 2019, you don't need to print your ticket! Just show us your ticket on your mobile and we can scan it from there.
While you're in the Festival Village, make use of our garbage, recycling and compostable stations correctly.
Not sure which bin to use? Make sure to inspect the signs at our stations or our friendly Waste Warriors will be in the Festival Village all day long to give you a helping hand.
Every Festival Village ticket includes a reusable and recyclable BPA free glass from our Eco-partners Globelet! Use it in the Festival Village to try out new drinks and sip on your favourites, rinse and reuse.
At the end of the day don't forget to take it home with you. They're perfect for picnics out and about or sundowners by the pool.
A complimentary shuttle bus will run every 30 minutes between the Noosa Transit Centre, The J in Noosa Junction and the Festival Village on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May between 9.30am and 8.30pm.
Plastic Water Bottles have been eliminated from our event! In the Festival Village, simply use your festival cup and grab a drink of water from Unity Water's free water refill station or BYO bottle. Of course, sparkling may also be available if that takes your fancy - in glass.
Not only are we eliminating single-use plastics at the event, we have committed to composting our disposable alternatives! All the food and the packaging used by our Festival Village vendors are compostable products which can go in our bright green bins.
We will then be delivering this to our composting partner and turning as much of the festival waste as we can back into dirt for our farmers and environment and diverting it from landfill.
We cherish the ocean at our doorstep and Queensland has gone plastic-bag free. At the Festival, we consider this to mean no plastic carry bags, any thickness.
Please consider bringing a small reusable bag from home to carry all your treasures.
From line caught seafood to Four Pillar's Gin Pigs, our 2019 Festival is all about sustainable ingredients and suppliers.
OzHarvest founder Ronni is coming to town for Grazie - dinner with Andy, Alessandro and Giovanni at Locale Noosa, and we're working with local OzHarvest Ambassador Cameron Matthews to create a menu based on 100% surplus from the festival for our Industry Day on Monday.
We're also choosing to work with suppliers who are doing good things in their own day to day operations, from recyclable kegs to solar panels to offset their daily energy output.
Learn from the best in the business at our Festival Village Chef's Skills Table. Chefs Andrea Ravezzeani and Cameron Matthews will be running daily sessions on what to create with leftovers at home.
