Group Executive Chef, Bikini Restaurant, Seminyak BALI

Originally hailing from sunny Queensland in Australia, Chef Braden White has chased the sunshine and island life and landed himself as Group Executive Chef at 8 Degree Projectsin Bali. Braden works closely with Creative Culinary Director, Chef Jethro Vincent to steer the menu offerings at the group’s venues including Sisterfields, BO$$ MAN, Sibling, Revolver Espresso, and their high end dining venue, Bikini - the modern share plate experience in Seminyak, where serious food is celebrated in a not so serious way.

From a young age, Braden knew he wanted to be a chef and started his apprenticeship back in his hometown of Toowoomba. Since those early years, Braden has spent many hours gaining valuable experience in hotel and resort kitchens throughout Queensland, Australia. He quickly worked his way up the ranks in various restaurants including Hamilton Island Yacht Club, Stokehouse Brisbane (gained 2 hat status in Brisbane Good Food Guide) and Ricky’s River Bar & Woodfire Grill in Noosa, while learning extensive culinary and management skills.

In 2013, Braden was the runner-up in the prestigious Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Young Chef of the Year Awards in Australia - a big career highlight where he cooked for some of his culinary heroes. Braden has since been Head Chef at many notable restaurants in Australia and Bali - Hatch & Co., Watercress and now Bikini to name a few.

Braden prides his cooking on quality, locally sourced ingredients prepared in a classic style that really allows the ingredients to shine. He describes his cooking as “Clean, honest, fresh and simple.” Braden’s passion for cooking is undeniable, “If you put love and attention into what you’re doing, it will show in the finished product.”
